Join us, April 24 at 3 p.m. at the Wagner & Brown Auditorium for the 2024 Dr. Stan Jacobs Teaching Excellence Award Ceremony.

The Teaching Excellence Award is presented to select faculty each year who have made significant contributions to the intellectual life of the college through innovation in the classroom and their commitment to students.

The Teaching Excellence Awards are a long-standing tradition at Midland College, an institution that prides itself on quality teaching and a superior faculty. 

Reception to take place in the Gallery immediately following ceremony.

The Midland College Lady Chaparrals will host the Howard College Hawks in a double-header Friday, April 26, begining at 1 pm at the Softball Complex on the MC Main Campus.

The softball games are open to the public and no admission is charged.  Fans are encouraged to bring refreshments and snacks to Lady Chaps Field and enjoy the Lady Chaparrals!

NOTE > It will be HC's turn to host the Lady Chaparrals in a double-header the following day, Saturday, April 27, beginning at 1 pm at the Softball Field on the HC campus, Big Spring, Texas.

The West Texas Chapter of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention and Midland College are sponsoring the Midland Campus Suicide Prevention Walk.  Please consider donating.  Funds go to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention to help those in crisis.

To donate and register for the walk, go to American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP).  You can also form your own teams when you register.

You can register online or on the day of the walk.

The Midland College Chaparrals will host the New Mexico Junior College Thunderbirds in a double-header Tuesday, April 27, 12 noon, at Christensen Stadium.

The baseball games are open to the public, and no admission is charged. Fans are encouraged to bring regreshments and snacks to Christensen Stadium and support the Chaparrals!

The Midland College Legacy Scholars Program encourages student success and the development of philanthropy and leadership skills. In addition to a full scholarship to cover tuition and fees, the Legacy Program includes benefits such as one-on-one success coaching, accountability for academic success, and building students’ sense of community custodianship.

The Legacy Scholars Program is generously funded by the Abell-Hanger Foundation, Scharbauer Foundation, Helen Greathouse Charitable Trust and Chaparral Foundation. All Midland County high school seniors are eligible to apply for the scholarship, but scholarships and seats in the program are limited based on funding.

This informational meeting is open to high school students and/or their parents to learn more about the Legacy Program, the application process, and Midland College.

Please join the Midland College Legacy Scholars Program in celebrating student achievements including Essay Contest winners, Herbert L. Cartwright Education Continuance Scholarship, and more. Students will also be presenting grant checks to local nonprofits. The program will run 5:30-6:30 pm in the auditorium with a reception to follow in the McCormick Gallery.
